July 13 Be Still and Know

Walking along this path out on a mountaintop in Utah, I was aware of the magnitude of the towering pines, and my own smallness. It was a moment of awe to listen to the sounds of the boughs as they swayed in the wake of the passing wind. The cares of my daily routines seemed to blow away as the wind passed in and among those trees, and I was able to “just be.” “Be still and know that I am God”. What a wonderful invitation for us to do just that. Be still!
